Chapter 2 - Forming Ideas

Forming Ideas

Forming ideas is a very important, but much overlooked, step in the web design process. In fact, this is probably the MOST important step - if you don’t have any ideas, what will you make? Now lets get these gears turning!

Content

Content is the first thing you need to brainstorm. Jot down ideas of what you need, what menus, if you will have banner ads, etc. Here is an example of Zimmer Tech’s idea sheet.
Keep jotting until you have a lot of ideas. Remember - content is king - without content, why would people browse the web? A site with a lot of content, but average page design is better than a site with no content, but a beautiful interface. Now that you know what your site is about - lets make it!
