1 Pixel Bevel - Paint Shop Pro (PSP) 7 Tutorial

Here is a tutorial on how to make the 1 pixel bevels you see in the borders around my site. Awesome technique. This tutorial was written for Paint Shop Pro (PSP), but can probably be used for other versions as well.

![]() | ![]() | KEEP YOUR SELECTION ACTIVE. Now go to Layers | Duplicate |
![]() | ![]() | Now, click on the "shadow2" layer and go to Effects | 3D Effects | Cutout

![]() | ![]() | In your layer pallette adjust the opacity of the layers until it begins to look good. I used 50 for shadow 2 and 40 for shadow 1. |

. Now using the selection tool
create the black shape you want to add the bevel to.

, to select the black shape, the go to selections | modify | contract, and set the value to 2. Then select the fill tool
and fill the selection with any color other than black.

, and do that twice so you have to copied layers. Name the first layer Shadow1, and name the 2nd layer Shadow2.

and enter these values.
