Scan Lines Tutorial for Paing Shop Pro (PSP) 7
Here is a Paint Shop Pro (PSP) tutorial on how
to make those cool scanlines. This tutorial was
written for Paint Shop Pro (PSP) 7, but can
probably be used for different versions.

First open the image you want to add scanlines to. Mine is a picture of my favorite car. |

The next step is to create a new image, 1
pixel wide and 2 pixels tall. Using the paint
brush
|
|
|

|

Now create a new layer by going to Layers-
New Raster Layer
|
|
|
||
|
|
Now you need to make the current layer a
mask
|
|
|
||
|
|
Now you are done! You can make the opacity scroll bar to the left in the layers pallette to lighten the image. You can also vary the size of the pattern image to make the scanlines thicker, etc. |

with the brush size of 1, paint the top half
black and the bottom half white.
. Name this layer "mask". Select the gradient
tool
and select fill with pattern
. Make the pattern source the 1x2 pixel image
you just created.
. Go to Masks- New- From Image, and press ok.
Now you picture should look like this.
